Annoyed with my exs family

My ex cheated on me and messed me around really badly after we split, refused to see the kids and gave me a lot of hassle.
It's all died down now and mostly has been sorted.
But there's one thing that bugs me and it's totally illogical.

We were together for 8 years and I was very close to his mum and his sisters. And it really galls me that they have welcomed the girl he cheated with, with open arms.
Now I know they owe me nothing and i've been distancing myself but today I met his sister for coffee at her request.
She basically has been dumped by her fella for another girl who she knows and wanted to talk to me (having been through it) and was basically b1tching about this girl and what a cow she is and how she'd never forgive her and in the next sentence said she was going to exs girlfriends party tonight (as exs gf called her) and started going on about some great night they'd had.
Ex is my age, his sister is 7 years younger and his gf is the same age as her so they are bound to get on. But it sickens me.
I also hate that she is going to theres for christmas, that she is basically taking my place in their family. And I know it's inevitable but damn, it hurts. It's like being dumped all over again and it's the same bloody person who's replaced me in my relationship and my "family".

I wouldnt touch my ex with someone elses but I do miss his family :( And I'm angry at them for being nice to her after what she did (illogical I know).

It just feels like that stupid b1tch has my life and I hate her for that. I really hate her.

    grrrrrr.......rant over

I know the feeling, my ex brought new girlfriend to his bf wedding in Aug (we split in June) and she sat at table with all his family and friends, I was raging, and so hurt, especially that non of them had the guts to tell me. I had been told by a family friend. They couldn't look me in the eye after. I see them almost every day, much more than he does, (we have kids and I really want their relationship with other side to remain as normal as possible) But i really was so hurt, I do understand their perspective too. I suppose I expected a little more from them, some compassion and loyalty even anger on their part at being put in what I thought would've been awkward position for them???, but I suppose they can't help if their son is a lying cheating b*****d.

    Sorry, nother rant over,!!!!!!!!!!

I am not defending him or them but maybe they didnt agree with him bringing her but what could they do but get on with it.

That is really harsh! If it were my brother and he brought home a girl he had cheated on his wife with, I wouldn't be civil to her, and I certainly would let my brother know what I thought of him. You've every right to be angry, especially seeing as there's kids involved, would they not think of them?

But what do you do on the day of the wedding, ask the bride and groom to rearrange all the table arrangements?

Cheers guys/gals, he was best man at wedding so i do agree he prob did put bride / groom and family on the spot. Doesn't feel any better though. He also told his brother there was no relationship going on while we were together, he just happened to form a "special one" in 5 weeks between our split and wedding of his best friend?? I have never had it out with him, he's just not worth it and I won't drag his family into our mess but am nearly more angry with them then him, (feel nothing but disgust for him)irrational, I know!!
    Thanks for listening.

Ah I was not making little of the situation but in fairness they probably had no choice.... You are right to be mad at him and i have the utmost respect for you for ensuring your kids see the in laws. That shows fantastic character and your kids are very lucky.

Sarahsassy, didn't feel like u were making light, no offence taken at all. I totally agree with u, I know they had no choice and were put on spot. Still stings though, but is over now and time to move on.
Was nice to vent and rant though and thanks a mill for ur words of encouragement.
    Best wishes, Merry Christmas. MM
