    Hi

I am looking for some reading or web based material to help me pass the theory for a Provisional C Driving Licence

I did a mock theory B test online before, I was just wondering if there was something like that for the C license.

Also for people who have done it, What type of questions are asked?

    Cheers

Edited :: I just seen this on the theorytest.ie website
The tests for categories B, C, C1, D, D1 and W also cover learner permit for these categories with a drawing vehicle without having to undergo a separate theory test.

Does that mean, Because i have a full B i can apply for a Provisional C Driving Licence?

I think you are interperating it incorrectly. What the top sentence means is that, if one passes a theory and driving test for a rigid truck, for example, one may then apply for a Learner Permit for an articulated truck without having to do another theory test. Basically, the theory test is only required for the drawing vehicles in any category and not for trailer categories.

(PS -The issuing of Provisional Licences ended in October 2007 - Learner Permits now ;))

First of all you need to pass the basic C theory test, you can buy "The Official Driver Theory Test" which is book with the whole question bank for cars up to trucks but you need to know all of the questions in that book for a truck test. That theory test costs about £30.

Then when you've done that you can get your medical done at the GP and apply for your learner permit in the C category.

Once you have your learner permit you have to complete the new CPC theory test (70 euro each), you have 2 tests, one multiple choice which 100 questions and the other test is 3 case scenarios with 15 questions each.

When you pass all that you can then book your driving test (110 euro) and start your lessons.

    Good luck

Don't forget the CPC practical, you apply for these both at the same time and it costs, I think, €30 on top of the €110 for the driving portion.

If you're not being paid to drive, you'll get away with it. You wont need to use a tachograph either, I think.
