How long to get surgery done from first consultation?

I'm thinking more and more about going for a consultation for eye surgery. If I'm a suitable candidate how long does it usually take from your initial consultation to your surgery day? Reason is that I get nearly 2 weeks off work around xmas. I work in an office on a computer all day with the air conditioning always on. Wanted to try schedule my recovery time while I was off work. Thanks

Depends on who you go with. AFAIK its usually around 2-3 weeks. Times might be different around Christmas though

Im just home from my consultation with optical express and have made an appointment for the 10th of December, (they offered me one on the 7th but it doesn't suit)

    Hope this helps...

Cheers. I rang them today and have my consultation on saturday. Can you tell me a bit more about the consultation? The guy on the phone said I cant drive home after. Are your eyes sore for a few hours after it? Did you go to the one in dundrum? Does it last the full 2 hours? That's a quick turnaround from consultation to op. Ideally I'd like it done on the 28th of dec if they can do it around then.

    Thanks

I went to optical express in Newbridge and it took about 90 mins in total, they tell you not to drive because they put drops in your eyes which dilate your pupils, this makes them sensitive to light and blurs your vision slightly. I strolled around the shops for 2 hours after and had no problems driving home (bring sunglasses, it makes it much easier)

I was in the mater private, it took about an hour and a quarter.
I found that my eyes were very blurred after the drops and it took 6 or 7 hours before I was okay. I agree with the other poster on the sun glasses. I didn't bring any and found walking around town really difficult as it was quite a sunny day.
