Wii 3'rd party battery compatibility with peripherals

    Hi,
I'm planning to get a family member a recharging station for her Wii Remotes for Xmas.

I understand these products work by providing their own rechargeable batteries and replacement lids for the Wii Remotes battery compartments.

While browsing the various offers available I ran across this review of a charger station http://www.play.com/Games/Wii/4-/9732573/Madcatz-Wii-Remote-Dual-Charger-Plus/Product.html.
The item appears to be of top quality, it works well in the Wii Mote, but it comes with a fatal flaw.....

When using the battery packs you can no longer use accessories such as the Mario Kart Weel, the baseball bats, tennis bats, the light guns for any shoot em up games. It's also problem-matic with the Motion Plus.

Essentially this batter pack adds two prongs at the bottom or the remote, thus extending it and preventing anything going on the end, or it slotting into anything.

Is this the exception in that most rechargeable solutions shouldn't interfere with other peripherals? I need something that can work with the wheel and gun accessories of the Wii.

    Any recommendations?

I just use rechargeable batteries and an old charging station. Works just the same.
