Flight confusion

Might be going to Seattle in early Jan and just saw a good deal Dublin->Seattle via Heathrow & Vancouver for 522yoyo.

However, the flight from Dub is at 7am and don't really want to be trekking up there and booking a place to stay for the night.

Is it ok to book Cork->Heathrow and just board from there with luggage to the Vancouver flight? It only works out at about 60euro extra as I'd probably continue on to Dublin on the way back.

    Thanks anyone with information :)

No - if you don't show for the first flight on an itinery, the rest will normally be cancelled.

Plus that doesn't really sound like a ''good deal''.

I would have thought if you can see a good deal from DUB - LHR there must be a similar one from Cork? Aer Lingus tend not to charge much (if any) more to travel to Heathrow from any of their Irish departure points.

Compared to paying 805euro it was.

Nope, I then tried Cork-Seattle and it was over 1,000.

Probably you wouldn't spend so much more if you did go through Dublin - you could either kip in the airport, or if it's not your style, I've stayed at Bewley's Dublin Airport hotel for 59 euro in the past.

Similiarly, Cork-Dublin could be done for something like 5 - 10 euro with Ryanair the night before, or the aircoach, which I think is 12 euro one way.

But I sympathise with you - anytime I've tried to use a codeshare to Italy, it was always X euro Dublin-London-Turin, but X+200 euro Cork-London-Turin. It's a bitch.
