There was a thread about this and OXS at the start of the year. Search for that and you will find something

Yes. Either spoof the MAC address of an already authorized machine, spoof your MAC address on a computer with a valid operating system and re-authorize, or use the XP-mode that some W7s can download.

I tried the 'xp mode' route and failed dismally.
The additional information balloon popup doesn't appear because it's a virtual network card and not windows zero config.
    Any eye deers?

Windows 7 works fine both wirelessly and using ethernet ports to connect to the college network.
I have been using windows 7 on the College NAC since the release date and there has been no issues.
Just follow the NAC instructions for vista and you'll be fine.
This is because both OS's are the same in core areas.

I was annoyed with ISS for saying windows 7 is not supported as in theory it should have no compatability problems with the NAC and its discouraged a lot of students from upgrading to windows 7.

So go ahead, you'll be fine.;)

If I do as you say and go ahead with the vista option, is it possible to reverse so when the college "do" support windows 7, I can go back in and get them to set up for me?

As the settings for the college proxy and anti-virus are generally never permanent (ie settings can be changed for different proxies, etc..) the ISS should have no problem changing settings once they offer support for windows 7.

Any other Q's just ask. :)

I'm living on campus and can't pass the NAC? How do I follow the instructions for vista? I'm not great with computers..(putting it kindly)

You can't authenticate a Windows 7 machine as a Windows Vista machine, the CSA program checks (and fails) if you have Windows 7.

Ways to circumvent this have already been discussed in this thread.

So in English then, how do Windows 7 get on the network?Im getting as far as the software scan and then its stopping...could have to do with Virus settings? Im using McAfee at the moment!

Have ISS said anything about when they'll let Windows 7 on the network? I'm assuming there'll be a few shiny new laptops bought over the christmas!

ISS get your laptop on the network, not your copy of Windows 7. So, for example, you could install Windows XP on your laptop, authenticate, and then install Windows 7 back again, and your laptop would be authenticated. Of course, deleting everything, installing Windows XP and then installing Windows 7 again is a pain.

There is an easier way. You could download an Ubuntu LiveCD. This is a version of linux that runs directly off the CD, it doesn't have to be installed, so your existing Windows 7 install will stay intact. Burn that to a disc, reboot your PC, and choose you boot from CD (there'll be a button to press right as your computer comes on, usually one of the F1-F12 buttons at the top of the keyboard. This will let you select the CD as the boot option). Connect to TCDwifi as normal, do the authentication, succeed, then take out the CD and reboot back into Windows 7.

I should've made it clear in my post's that this is the way I did it. I'm sorry for any confusion I caused :(

You were clear, I was just spelling it out; didn't mean to step on any toes.
Out of curiousity, did you have any problems with libstdc++ when running CSA in UbuntuLive? It seems to be a common enough problem (that CSA required v5, but Ubuntu has v6, and there isn't any backward compatibility, so you end up installing v5, which is a pain it itself - getting apt to work through proxies, it not being in the standard repo anymore etc. etc.)

Just go in to the ISSs or whatever they call it and tell them you are having trouble connecting, I believe they just stick you on then. I think you need to give them your mac and that's about it.

When exactly are they going to allow windows 7 on the network? Early 2010 is very vague.
