With the weather looking good for the weekend, i booked myself to play down at the Castleknock GC. Can't wait, its a superb course!

Favourite hole is the 9th and 18th, longish par 3 with water in front of the greens almost.:)

What your favourite hole in this golf course?

There's better holes and better par 3's than the 9 & 18th IMO there buddy. People talk about them as they share a long green, they they aren’t anything out of the ordinary tbh. I reckon the 11th with the pin on the noise of the green it probably the best of the par 3’s. As you stand on the tee alongside the hotel and pray that the wind is blowing away from the lake, the brick work around the green is lovely. I found the 3rd long par 3 difficult, while the 7th is also long with a bit of water around the green. A good course for par 3’s!

Membership is way over priced (there membership team must be living on the moon €3,300… with VAT added in) and I think in terms of green fees there’s better value out there

Agree with Jimjo, there are far better par 3's on the course than the 9th and 18th. I am a member there this year and found the 8th and 17th to be two of the better holes. On a downside there are a few short par 4's which i feel were stuck in because of the lack of space, these would include 1st, 5th, 13th and 15th and also there are two short par 5's which are the 6th and 10th. Membership fees are crazy and are controlled by the plc. If you play every week in competitions the costs including membership and competition fees are nearer 4,000 euro, a lot of money. Also which i never agreed to, the weekend competitions are run over two days on Saturday and Sunday. On a good few occasions the pin positions have changed on both days and also the tees positions. As far as i know this should make the competition null and void as everyone is not playing the same course. I like the course and members but I shall be moving to pastures greener in the new year, solely because we have been informed that the prices are the same for the coming year and the lure of equally good courses at reasonable prices appeal to me

Good course with a good mix, i personally like the 11th and I think 14th is a good solid par4, along with the 17th. Great drainage throughout.

With all that said, Luttrelstown down he road is a far better course. Sad to see it close.
