    Not being nosey but are you single/married with or without kids. What area are you in ? All these factors effect your means test

    I should have said.

    24, living in kilkenny, have been in my house 12 mths ~ strugglin to pay rent since hours got cut in work, first JSA came Tuesday.

    I'm single, no kids.

    The means testing for rent supplement is extreemly complex. I couldnt work my own out before. Have a look at the following link & you may be able to fit your own income in.

    €76 per week is the maximum your rent can be as a single person in Kilkenny. So even regardless of income your rent per month must be below €400 per month( €100 per week less the €24 you must contribute per week). So thats the first criteria you must meet.
