i feel suicidal when thinking about this,im in my mid 20s at the time i was 24,i was into online chatting thing, and met a friend online who was 20,who then a friend of hers who was nearly 18 at time who started to fancy and came close to me,started to send me very personal msgs etc, suggesting that meet up,luckly nothing ever came out of this as thankfully we never actually met up,i did cut contact at time, and i do see this person around at times whos now 19 and has a boyfriend etc,and sometimes in back my head i think about what **** went on that makes me very ashamed and upset about myself, sometimes i contiplate suicide or wanting to see a counciller about all this,i do not expect sympathy for all this, just my own stupidty,so should i see a counciller to clear my head,or put this behind me and continue with my life?..

Seem to be missing part of the story there. I cant quite work out what you mean spefically.

We all have things in our past we'd rather forget about.

However if it is causing you currently great concern/worry and affecting your life at the moment. then maybe considering seeing a counsellor is something to think about seriously.

You'll need to elaborate on what you are actually feeling guilty about because right now i havn't a clue.

Ok - there was some messaging that is cringeworthy and nothing happened.

Thats the thing about the internet is that people adopt personas and roles they would do IRL.

Learn from the expeience that whatever it was doesnt suit you so dont repeat that behavior again. Dwelling on it just attaches it more significance than it deserves.

TRy to put it behind you.

The Samaritans have a 24 hour helpline on 1850 60 90 90 which you can call if you need to talk and if you need counceling go to your GP as its normal to get them to arrange it.

I feel like I'm missing something as well - you feel guilty for flirting/coming on to someone who was 17 when you were 24?

That's pretty minor TBH. You didn't even do anything. It might be a bit embarrassing, but people do stupid stuff, and this doesn't sound like it majorly affected her life.

See a counselor can't hurt though. It might be useful to see why you're getting this worked up this.
