Hi Mick, phone numbers aren't allowed. Also, when you say you're looking for someone open to all genres, are you really? You're looking for a bass player who can do a bit of bluesy, jazzy, rocky, funky death metal? Seriously though, it's best to be specific with what you're looking for.

just an observation... its funny how people can advertise looking for band members, DEMANDING DEDICATION, without providing links to their music, or details of where they have played before, and a rough idea of what the band hopes to achieve. If the motive is to recruit band members for the sole purpose of doing the pub circuit, then you cant expect too much dedication realisticaly (Im a musician 20 yrs)

Kinda true that, but at the same time gotta think a lotta people be just gettin goin and they really wanna put in the effort but haven't done much yet

Just on the subject of giving as much details as possible. To my knowledge, there are very few, if any, bands that play varied (or "all" ) genres of music. How many times have you seen a band play something by say, Shane Mc Gowan, followed by a Miles Davis piece ?? :p

That's how silly the term "open to all genres" sounds to me.

IMO it is always a good idea to give even a rough idea of the intended music to be played. Saves a lot of time all round too.

One thing that does my head in with that is I've found that a lotta peoples idea of being an everything band is like "we play like Kings of Leon AND Bloc Party with Muse influence :O" but it's cool when they really mean all genres...and there are a fair few bands out there that do play very varied musac...like I've done shizz where I go from playin Clash tunes to Weather Report with Blackalicious and Tom Waits in there without it soundin too mad or skitzoid ha

Now, that is varied. ;), but I'd say you are very much in the minority.

"Musician" might be too ambitious a word, :p, but I play (to a reasonably high standard IMO), bass in a blues band.
