Bought a locked K800i but not locked????

just got a se k800 off ebay and the seller said it was locked to 3, i was gonna bring it somewhere to be unllocked but decided to try the O2 sim and see and it works perfectly:D. can i go ahead and reset the software to get of the 3 icons etc or will i relock it, is it better to leave well enough alone??
