Hard to get away from Portumna (4/7) in the hurling ,
easy looking semi against Dunloy and they'll be strong favs for Paddys day as well .
the football is much more open , provincial favourites St.Galls and Corofin will meet in the semi if successful . Corofin have injury problems and may find Galls too lively if this pairing comes to pass.
The other semi is Munster vLeinster , Kerins O'Rahillys fav for Munster and will be hotter again if David Moran returns from Oz and if they win Munster they'll meet more than likely Portlaoise or Garrycastle .
I'd be inclined to go for St.Galls at 4/1 to win it out .

Good shout there on Galls, tatoo. I will have a few quid on them

Newtown @ ~4/1 are the value bet for me. Portumna are far too short at 4/7 when the only game they'll get this season is the final itself (presuming they beat Dunloy of course!). I'll put my neck on the line by saying the winners of Ballyhale - Newtown will go on to win the AI.

Portlaoise ran out comfortable winners today in the refixed game against Clara on a 1.9 to 0.3 scoreline , they'll remain favourites to beat Garrycastle in the leinster final , Garrycastle are no mugs mind you .

Newtown were nearly caught yesterday , despite looking by far the better side for nearly 50 minutes . Anyone who backed them to beat the handicap must have been tearing their hair out as they lost concentration and their ten point lead .
Stiil very hard to call their semi with Ballyhale , who won by eight despite hitting 15 wides against an average enough Tullamore side ,
will Ballyhales drubbing against Portumna last year spur them on to get to a revenge match on Paddy's day , or would they be in dread of the samething happening again ?

Newtown's running style of play will put Ballyhale to the test big time. If Ben O'Connor has a good day on the free's I can see them beating Ballyhale. And to be honest, I'd doubt very much if Ballyhale would dread meeting Portumna again ;)

    Newtown now 7/2.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that , I see David Moran is coming back from Australia and will be available for Sunday's Munster final ,
it's also rumoured that St.Kildas may let Tommy Walsh home if the narries reach the final .

The club football will now see St.Galls v Corofin , and Kilmurry-Ibrickane who got the rub of the green against Kerins O'Rahillys ( with the returned Moran ) against Portlaoise in the other semi-final ( provided Kilmurry beat the London champs in Ruislip , that is ).
    A St.Galls v Portlaoise final would look likeliest .

Kilmurry sraped over Tir Chonaill Gaels in Ruislip yesterday on a 1.4 to 0.3 scoreline , the match itself was a horror show where the balance really only shifted to Kilmurry ( who admittedly looked the better side ) when the London champs went down a man .
PPs are now offering 4/1 against them beating Portlaoise , it looks a bit big to me , but at the same time they'd have to improve markedly on yesterdays showing to beat the Leinster champs .
It looks like Portlaoise v Corofin or St.Galls ( who yesterday also qualified for the intermediate hurling final ) in the final . I'll stick with Galls , though they may find the hurling a bit of a distraction or pick up injuries in it .
Portumna have being going well of late I hear and at 8/13 with Boyles represent fair value .

Despite the only recent interest in this topic coming from some fella called David , who had very bad English and was trying to promote some offshore gambling site , I'll recommend Portumna to beat the handicap of 12 points against Dunloy in Sundays semi ( 10/11 PPs ) .
The other semi is very hard to call ,with Ballyhale slight favourites against Newtown .
St.Galls are also in action this weekend , small ball this time , in the intermediate hurling final where they face St.Lachtains of Kilkenny in Croker . They're up against it , but after beating the Galway champs in the semi the 3/1 available might be a little on the big side .

Would disagree re the Intermediate All Ireland Final, I think St. Lachtain's (Freshford) are pretty certain to beat St. Gall's who, understandably, will have their mind on other matters.

Double them up with Ballyhale to beat Newtown and at PP odds it pays 11/10 for the double. (Haven't shopped around yet). On this year's evidence Newtown are not as strong as a few years back, and there are one or two weaker players for the Shamrock's lethal forwardline to exploit.

Good call there Dan , though if NTS had got the goal that their pressure looked like forcing after halftime it could hane been a different story , they reverted to bombing high balls down on the Ballyhale backs - meat and drink to the Kilkenny boys .

I see the total points market for tonights semi final , Galls and Corofin , is 24.5 , given that both teams have decent backs , Parnell Pk is a tight enough pitch and the going is likely to be soft underfoot , I'd go for under 24.5 at 5/6 .

i know this isnt a club match but said id stick it in here rather then start a new thread but i think the value bet today has to be waterford to beat galway in the NHL @ 2/1, galway have benn less then impressive in their start to the year in the walsh cup and in their match last weak against a very limited limerick side. waterford on the other hand have had a good start to the year and an impressive victory over dublin last week. Im not saying waterford are nailed on but i think they are way overpriced. the most id be offering about them today would be 6/4 even at that i think its generous

Not much between the teams really save for the kamikaze stuff from the Waterford goalie and full back

yeah they completely fell apart in the second half, i guess that was the lack of experience in the team!
Power in goals is usually a lot more dependable then that, just a bad day at the office i guess:(
