    My 06 520dM needs a 40k service - any recommendations in Dublin?

I know BMW have deals on older models but these don't seem to apply to the E60

If you don't mind using an independent, then I recommend AC Cars on the SCR.

Gary in Chelmsford Motors in Ranelagh is excellent as well.

This is my first BMW, so does the absence of the MD stamp in the book make any real difference when selling?

Yes, some people will only buy a BMW with a FBMWSH, so the resale value might be affected. However, if you get your car serviced at a BMW dealership every time over a few years, you will end up paying a lot more than if you had gone to an independent, so what you might gain in resale value will probably be wiped out.

what exactly is flashing on the OBC?
    ie. what services are required?

as long as you keep the receipt for the work done and it was a genuine garage that looked after it, ie AC Cars or BMW or Chelmsfort etc etc i would have no problem buying it.

also get the garage to stamp the mileage too on the receipt so it can be verified later down the line.
