Pay US supplier CC or wire transfer?

    Hello there,

Anyone know whether it makes more sense to pay a US supplier using wire transfer (I'm with BoI) or by credit card? The amount is approximately $1500.

    Thanks in advance!

I'd pay with credit card if I was you.
    Safer.

Do you know if there's much of a difference in fees between the two? I do like the safety aspect of CC but I'm worried that the fees might be higher.

I don't understand where the fees come in and even if there are fees im sure it would be worth it for peace of mind.

    Hi UGG,

Fee's would be 1.5% currency conversion on the CC (which will be higher than the bank I think). The supplier will also have to pay a small fee (1 - 2.25%) in addition to accept the CC - but that's not your problem so not really an issue.

For ease and the fact that the dispatch will be quicker i'd opt for a CC on such an amount. Plus you have more security (chargeback options) if the item doesn't arrive.

I too would pay by credit card.
Peace of mind etc. is guaranteed

Also remember with a credit card, you have 30 days extra credit. With Bank transfer the money will leave ure account automatically
