ok here it is . i was made redundant 3 months ago , finding it very difficult getting back into work . i have mortgage , bills ,etc . cannot afford to keep house purely on my welfare , but if i go back to college fulltime at higher education level i will qualify for a maintenance grant and thus be able to afford my mortgage . although this only came to my attention i am giving some serious thought , anybody any advice or experience with this type of situation . i know the grant maybe cut in the budget but even so i will be still better off . just to add i am 30 years of age and on the partime government iniative scheme introduced for people made redundant - will this effect me qualifying for fulltime education

If your work hours are less than 20 hours a week, you probably would qualify. I'd suggest you go and ask DIT Student Affairs in Aungier Street or Bolton Street, as I'm not sure about this myself.
