Peak to trough in my business is about 40%...but we are doing ok..reacted when we needed to...did what was needed. But recently Iv noticed things really seem to have worsened.
Are we waiting to see whats in the budget?...
Has anyone else noticed things going even more subdued?

Yep, things definitely haven't improved and people are even holding off a bit more until after the budget, public confidence just isn't there. Hopefully when people can just realise that their job is safe they won't be afraid to spend some money.

Finally the government sees that by taking more money through taxes is doing more damage than good. My Business's have been struck head with this recession and to say things are tough is a bit of an understatement but at least I'm still surviving.

We are not at the bottom yet, the next 6 months are going to be hairy, with a mild upswing next Autumn , this is my uninformed opinion.

Have to agree, everyone is holding off on spending but will they spend after the Budget.

I see stock getting tighter in Retail Shops ans some have cancelled Christmas deliveries in the hope of selling what is instock. Some shops are starting to feel very bare/empty because stock is not turning.

It is going to be a tough haul to next Summer

Jobs are not safe, people have no money, budget will not be enough, they will need another budget before next summer or the IMF will be here. Country is running on vapor and the hope that things will improve.

the web design business is ticking over and providing us with an income to keep us going.... the caravan sales business.... a disaster, 3 bad summers and this downturn in the economy.... we started to do caravan hire a couple of years ago and that seemed to do OK, but this year, that was down by a good 60%
