Anyone think that this NH Springbok call up situation is becoming a bit of a joke?

Meh, they can do what they like. I just find it comical when they insist overseas players wont be picked and then a few injuries quickly changes their tune. If Kirchner gets assaulted with a steel pipe injured you can bet they will be onto Frans Steyn as well.

Who else are they going to call up? Swanepoel? La Grange? There arent that many good centers waiting for a call up, if they have the likes of De Villiers in the NH then good on them for calling him up.

They don't have an official policy on selecting players outside South Africa. PdV just said he wouldn't, that is until injuries forced his hand.

If he had a great Springbok centre just down the road why wouldn't he call him up?

Not at all. They're calling up players due to injuries. Bringing a player to Ireland from South Africa at this stage of the tour is silly.

Still, it would be cool to see JdV play, he is far superior to Jacobs.

I'd much rather Jacobs played, he's from the O Gara school of tackling and has the positional sense of a 4 am drunkard when he plays at 12.

Having JDV at 12 will considerably up the pressure on Sexton imo.

With Munster luck with imported players. He will come off the pitch injured Saturday. Would have preferred if he wasn't called up.I hope he doesn't start anyway

....which is exactly why Kidney is starting him. I'd prefer to see how he handles this type of pressure in a AI Test rather than in 4 months time over in Paris.

I'd say both parties were claiming Clint was injured even if he wasn't as soon as they realised how bad he was.
