PS3 System updates via PC????

    Does anyone know if you can download PS3 system updates on a PC and install via USB on to the console? I have it in my head that the FAT32 file system is compatible with the console. My PC is using an NTFS file system
    so I think this is a problem. All advice will be welcome.
