Annoyance in sourcing parts in Dublin

Right, pretty pee'd off, trying to source a keyboard for a MBP you'd think it would be easy without using fleabay, I phone the only recommended supplier of parts in Dublin for laptops (have purchased from them before) and the answer is no, they can't do it, they can repair it all right, but can't supply the part, this pi$$es me off as I've been fixing the buggers since 1991.

I haven't gotten certified as the hoops apple make you jump through is impossible and the one recommended authorised repair agent (they were excellent for sourcing parts for a knackered G5 (PSU & MOBO)) that I have visited in no way matches the criteria that apple set for setting up as an agent, but anyway I hadn't the cash to do it in the first place.

So I guess it's now on to fleabay, order the part from Hong Kong and wait to get it shipped when there's a perfectly good agent right here in Dublin that can't sell it to me, it's out of warranty so can't understand why they will not sell it to me.

Have you tried contacting Apple Customer Support? It seems unlikely but they might be able to put you in touch with a supplier.

Indeed apple won't allow you to buy parts from any apple authorised service provider. nor will they supply you with one. try http://www.thebookyard.com/

Due to the jigs and reels that Apple Service Providers have to go through I can see why they won't sell the parts or why Apple won't supply.

Ta greentree, sorted. Had contacted my european apple sales guy and even he couldn't get it for me.
