An Turas Beag coming back?

Does anyone know if there's a hope of An Turas Beag adventure race in Killarney coming back this year?
It was called the Irish Adventure Challenge in it's previous form. I competed in it in 2007 and it was the best adventure race I've done and probably one of the best ever held in Ireland. I know there was major controversy in 2008 when they held it in conjunction with An Turas Mor (The world adventure race championship) and all the fallout from that.

I heard from the organiser last year that he was hopeful it would return in 2010.

    Anyone hear anything?

The organiser still owes a 6 figure sum in prizemoney. If there is a hint of him having the cash to stage a race the reaction will be interesting.

It was indeed a great race. There are better ones out there though if you can get a team of 4 together (The national adventure marathon and the Ballyhoura Beast being two obvious ones. The CCAR races are also excellent)

This was the best one day race ever held in Ireland.
It seems it was too costly to run and so is unlikely to return, especially with bailiff Enduro circling :)

Granted it did seem like a lot of money was spent the year I ran it. But I think the organiser was too ambitious, he said it himself it was only a practice run to get the world championship over to Killarney. Surely taking away the money spent on getting TV coverage etc it wouldn't work out any more expensive than Gaelforce or similar. Far better and more challenging course than Gaelforce, in the most stunning part of the country.

Don't suppose any other budding entrepreneur would take it upon him/herself to organise something along the same lines? So much opportunity down in Killarney along the mcgillycuddy reeks and the lakes for a top class race. Suppose there's far too much bad blood down there now to get the local business's involved again?
