WAR Vs GFW6

Has anyone done WAR (Wicklow Adventure Race) and also GFW6 (Gael Force West 6)? How do they compare?

Also, (I'm pushing it here) would it be too much to run a marathon 2 weeks after WAR? There is a new Limerick Marathon in May.

First year of WAR, have to compare on other factors I suppose.

How does Sally Gap compare to the 2 climbs in the Lost Sheep tunney? I've heard Sally Gap is pretty tough. Cheers.

Depends on which way you approach Sally Gap :)

If you're happy with the Healy and Caha pass then Sally Gap will be a piece of pi$$ to you. There is a sharp last 50 metres to Sally Gap but the rest isn't that bad and its nice and short.

Missed the bit about Sally Gap being tough.
Sally Gap - Its short and its not too steep to be honest.

I've never done Sally's Gap (never thought I'd say that) - would it be anything compared to croagh patrick?
I didn't realise it was the First year of WAR, all the better I suppose.

Did anyone do anything crazy after Gael Force West? Dublin City Martahon or the likes?

I did DCM after Gael Force West, wouldn't classify doing it as crazy though! I didn't go all out during Gael Force, and came out of it with a small quad tear. Basically, I fitted it in my marathon training schedule as a replacement for a 20 miler. Am looking forward to doing it next year, and giving it a bit more this time!

I'm only back running after Gael Force, managed to get wiped out with a chest infection for a few months. I'd hope to get WAR, the Great Limerick Run, GFW, Dingle marathon and DCM done this year, just trying to gauge if it possible.

Possible yeah, quality wise...which of those races will be priority or are you looking to just get around them all?

Mossess I know what you are talking about, was out all of Sep/Oct with a chest infection after completing GFW. Completly blew all the fitness I had built up over the year, which was my first year doing 5/6 races. Picked it up on a plane to Lanzarote on holidays of all bloody things.

Just registered for WAR the other day, so I'll be back training this week. Next year hoping to do WAR, Limerick Half, Achill Half, Ballyhoura Blitz, and GFW. Might tack on the end-to-end mtb race in Isle of Man in sept if I complete all of those.

Anyone got anything like a gradient map of the WAR course?
