Cold hands in Winter

Lads Im gona play all the days I can over the winter and am suitably kitted our in the wet gear dept and shoes and hats etc so warmth is not an issue for the core of my body but the fingers and hands is a real pain. I wear a glove, preferably thin, the Titleist player’s type or no glove sometimes and I also carry the bag. Ive seen these two glove packs from footjoy: http://www.direct-golf.co.uk/golf_gloves/footjoy/wintersof_golf_gloves_pair_golf_gloves/p2120.
I know ive nearly answered my own question but does anyone play with these or can anyone recommend an alternative to the two glove option on the grip. Cold hands are about all that will stop me from playing over the winter. Id like to know what others find work for them. Hands in pockets works but not enough

I have those ski gloves (Wilson I think, but most of the brands do them). They're great. You just need to keep your hands toasty between shots, they're not going to freeze up in the minute it takes to play the shot with your normal one-glove set up!

    +1

I picked up a pair a few years back for 15 quid or so and they're great. They just stay in my bag all the time and even on spring/autumn (and even some early summer mornings) they can be great to keep your hands warm for the first few holes.

    Definitely worth the small outlay.

to be honest i always find that if u can warm up your glove, grips and shoes before u go out it always helps. try not expose ur hands between shots too much and keep them dry as possible. oh and avoid catchin the ball thin too or u get the sting of death all the way up ur arms :)

was out on the course today...my Mizuno mitts helped so much, was really worth the 20 or so quid they cost...kept my hands nice and warm between shots...

I don't have a real problem with the cold but I have bought the big mitts as presents. You can also get one to fit onto your trolley handle.

If you wear the mitts between shots then they will keep your hands warm. I'd rather use an ordinary glove for playing the shot then put the mitts back on again.

    Here are some mitts......

As these mittens are in the fashion on boards I got a pair! Well was meaning to get a pair for a while. Got Calvin Klein ones in McGuirks for €16, priced at €19. The guy in the shop said whatever type you get make sure they have finger dividers, if anyone goes in there make sure to ask for a few pound off, they'll give it!

Does anyone use the mits that attach to the handle of the trolley. i would be interested in giving them a go.I also could only find one type on the net from powercaddy. Any other types for push trolleys?
Dont like the mits personally as i hate taking them off and putting them on after every shot.

Came in god damn handy today, paid back there money already! Really helped to put some life back into the hands in between shots. My feet took about an hour to get back to their normal temperature after todays round!

i got a fab christmas present of a zippo hand warmer. its like about the size of an i pod. silver slim very sleek looking, bit like myself (;) ), joking aside, its fantastic, you fill it with lighter fluid, ignite it and it stays roasting hot for up to 12 hours, depending on how much fluid you put in it. had nt seen one before but can highly recommend it.

The underarmour all weather golf glove is well worth checking out. Bought some on ebay 3 weeks ago for ~18euro a pair.
Also using the hand warmers in the pack, they stay warm for about 4-5 hours but open them around an hour before playing

I'll second the mits. Bought a Ping pair over Christmas and tried them out on Saturday. They were the business. Kept my hands warm enough that the cold didn't bother me when I took them out to hit my shots. Excellent purchase.

... zippo hand warmer ... fill it with lighter fluid, ignite it

Hmm ... unpleasant image evoked of freaked-out golfer in flames running towards nearest water hazard!!

    Why is this?

    Insulation around the fingers

disposable hand warmers are far better imo. i've pretty bad circulation in my hands but these help to no end. got some in american golf in dundrum/windy arbour last week and i'm told some of the Heatons sportsworld shops sell them also.
