hello, im waiting 2 months for Jobseekers allowance and i rang them today and they said it'll be another 3 weeks!! ahhh

i'm so worried about it as we have no money and mortgage is due tomorrow.

my boyfriend will be getting approx 3500 in maintenance grant money as he is back at college and his fees paid. how much can i expect to get? im really worried i won't get anything now and can't handle the worry. looking for a job every day and hate being reduced to this.

have 2000 in savings but this is my last bean and reluctant to spend it as i'll have nothing at all then (even though now is probably the time to spend it).

    any help or support appreciated.

That's nothing, I'm sorry to say. My mother-in-law's JA application took over six months to decide. :(

May you should apply for SWA in the mean time?

You should be able to get in contact with your local welfare officer and once you have a claim in for benefit/allowance they will pay out weekly to you until your claim is sorted. You dont need to wait until your claim is sorted to get your money.
Get down to your dole office and ask what days the welfare officer sees people and og see them.

The Community Welfare Officer works from your local HSE office, not the social welfare office.
