Highspots seem to be doing a good one. Everything $12.95 it seems.

Post here any other sites with good sales for wrestling merch or DVDs.

ROH.com have a 40-50% off everything. This website never fails on great deals in fairness.

what about the hidden costs of postage and Irish Vat @ 21.5%?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

I have never been charged VAT on anything bougfht from either of the above. If you ask them to mark it as gift they will do so as well.

anybody know any sites that have decent enough shipping prices?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

Both of those have very good shipping prices. ROH is $7.50 for first item, $2.50 for each item after that.

Not sure exactly what highspots do, but it is not that much either.

Tempted by the Christmas gift package on Highspots but I know it'll get caught for VAT

Picked up some DVD's in the ROH sale alright, worked out at €10 each delivered which isn't too bad at all.

Just to add to the praise for the ROH sale- i picked up a couple of bits and pieces. 5 dvds for 35 quids including shipping. Granted, there was an ol' 5 dollars FIP dvd there but still good times.

just picked up the 3 Best Of CM Punk DVDs and a couple of FIP DVDs from the ROH website

fair play to ROH for a real quality sale. im tempted to get the Best Of Samoa Joe also

Crowning a Champion, the 60 minute main event is fairly savage

I actually ordered the One Year Anniversary show myself, which I've never seen before, so can't wait!

Most of the cards from this period have dated alot- but if you can put up with some dodgy prelim/undercard stuff, there's some cracking matches.

Of the shows that are left, I'd definitely get Glory By Honor if you don't have it. It's worth it for Joe/Ki alone, but the rest of the card is really varied, quality stuff. Night of the Champions is brilliant too, if only for the top three matches- Ki/Jody is absolutely nuts, and the Style/Red tag match with the Briscoes is outstanding...but it's also a really important show.
Crowning a Champion is also really important, but unless the Iron Man match really appeals (it is fantastic), I'd leave it.
You can't go wrong with Death Before Dishonor though- it feels like one of their biggest early shows, and the Ki/Deranged opener is actually the first ROH match I ever saw.

Unscripted is great if you're a Paul London fan, as is Night of the Grudges, his efforts in both are outstanding, and Unscripted is a really eventful show in general.

All Star Extravaganza is pretty good, but the gauntlet series is a bit tiresome, and I'd avoid Expect the Unexpected and Final Battle 03 (the AJPW appearances feel like pretty much exhibition stuff, and would probably be nothing new to you).

EDIT: Crowning the champion is out of stock.

Crowning A Champion does not seem to be there actually. Gonna pick up a few PWG from ROH as well. Their 100th show looks absolutely awesome.

You should pick up a couple of FIP ones as well if you can afford it... there's a bunch that are only 5 bucks, plus discount. They're a good change of pace if nothing else.

Bah, just ordered a bunch, totally forgot FIP.

    1st Anniversary
    Trios
    Wrestlerave
    Best Of American Super Juniors.
And one of the Final Countdown tour ones

I actually ordered before I read your reply. I got impatient

Also got 2 PWGs. $80 which works out about €50 incl postage. Feel like I am robbing them :)

Yeah, I might order a couple of other things before it ends...

You swine. You're missing out on the Glory By Honor show then! The Gibson/Spanky opener on super juniors is absolutely outstanding- one of the best I've ever seen.

That time of year again folks. ROH will be doing a 45% sale this year, which is pretty awesome given the amount of things they have in their store.

Any other info, keep it here.

DGUSA have 30% off all DVD's, shirts and caps. TNA have loads of discounts but you'll get hammered by shipping and customs.

    ^^^
Personally I don't think that's up to much. Alot of the matches are available elswhere, and much of them are actually just clips on that set.

Evolve are also doing a sale- 25% off all of their dvd's, or the entire set of 5 for $50
    www.EVOLVEwrestling.com

I thoroughly recommend giving them a shot. Fish/Danielson is epic on Evolve 4.

The DGUSA releases are a steal at that price too. Those who have watched some of their shows online should consider supporting them and ordering some stuff.

Ring of Honor have an epic 50% sale going on

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

To buy the Evolve set or no? My only reason for saying no is I reckon they could be in the wardrobe forever. But at the same time $50 is a great price.

As most of these sales are going on for a few days, what are people recommending, and what have ya'll bought?

I've seen Evolve 1-4, and I can't recommend them enough. If i didn't have them, I'd definitely be going for them. They're something different, and if you like Gabe's approaches to booking, i can't see why you wouldn't enjoy them.
That said, the DGUSA shows have been awesome top-to-bottom and the two-disc sets are great value. I've just watched Enter the Dragon 2010, and it's immense.

The only thing I picked up was a few Shimmer bits and one or two ROH dvds, in the ROH sale. 50% off everything is pretty insane, but for me, their own shows haven't been worth repeat viewing in 2010, bar one or two.
