Yeah, it's harsh alright...I heard Gilmore in the Dail today making the legitimate point that the necessary documents for means-testing may be destroyed in many cases and that people shouldn't have to be put through even more trauma after the floods. Many of the destruction has to do with good old Fianna Fail complacency and their cosy relationship with the evil bastards of developers who bulit estates on floodplains, like the one in Claregalway.
They should just pay out the money and call an election.
