We are planning a trip to France at the end of Dec/ Early Jan. We have just converted a Transit van and are taking it on its first trip!! was just wondering if anyone has done something similar at that time of year of if you may have some recommendations of places to stay, routes etc. We would like to fit in some snowboarding/ surfing aswell. :)

One tip is to use www.viamichelin.fr or www.mappy.fr to calculate both route maps and also toll charges.

Hmmm... I'd imagine that it would be more expensive to take the ferry to Wales, drive to Folkestone and then the Chunnel rather than going directly to France from Ireland.

At the same time, if time and money were no object think it's be a cool way of starting your trip :)
