What would he know, he didn't really go to the moon! :p

He's says at the end "the universe put it there. If you choose, God put it there."
He doesn't saying anything about aliens.

It's fairly obvious that he's saying it's a interesting, but natural feature.

And the feature isn't exactly secret:

The 'monolith' is on Phobos, a moon of Mars:

Now that big crater which takes up most of Phobos was made by a massive impact. Phobos is pretty small, only about 20km across so the so-called 'monolith' would appear to be a remnant from the impact left on the surface. Anyway Aldrin says it's an interesting feature within our universe.

    sorry king mob ,

i forgot you know more than even Buzz Aldrin , who is one of the highest masons on the planet , is a veteran astronaut , and is moSt likely privy to things we will never know about -

why would he have brought it up if it was a natural feature ?

maybe you should contact him and point out

"King MOB HERE , sorry Buzz, if that IS your real name - but its a natural feature "

MMh I just posted what he said.
He said it was a natural feature.
"....the universe put it there. If you choose, God put it there."

He mentioned it because it's an interesting natural feature.

How is what I said arrogant exactly?

But what about the fact that the feature isn't a secret?

Why would he announce it on national TV?

I've given you an infraction for this. Please tone down the aggressive posting. Any further breaches of the forum charter will result in a ban.

I just plain can't understand this one.

How is a monolith on a martian moon CT anyway? Where's the coverup exactly?

I agree, no CT has been outlined here. This feature came to light back in 1998 when it was imaged by the Mars Global Surveyor probe. NASA released the image, like all other images, to the public. This is old news I'm afraid and has been doing the rounds for over a decade. Now if NASA failed to release the image and it only recently came to light that would be different but that isn't the case. No CT here I'm afraid - just an interesting feature on a martian moon.

He should have dodged that one.
He'll never get a title shot with a defence like that:pac:

Bart Sibrel is an idiot and a wannabe. For harassing elderly people he deserves more than a punch in the gob. Good shot by Buzz though!!

I read in a foreword to one of Clarke's books (probably 2001 or The Sentinel, but it was some time ago) where he described a conversation that he had with either Armstrong or Aldrin (I know, I'm big on detail :)). There was a joke planned where they would report back to Mission Control that they'd found a monolith, but they copped on before they caused a planet-wide panic.
