You will save money up north if your buying a bundle but if you just want the console itself I dont think there are are much savings to be had, I think game were doing a 120GB slim with inFamous for €280'ish but why dont you give game, gamestop, hmv a ring wherever it is your heading.

As far as I know the bundle price with MW2 is (euro equivalent) 303 up North and 299 in South, plus you have your warranty down here if anything goes wrong...fairly handy choice if you ask me.

New slim at that price. Personally I'd stay well clear of a second hand ps3.

The hard drive does not matter, you can always upgrade should you feel the need.

The 120GB is the cheapest, but it depends on your needs. Do you need the larger HDD for your music or video/film collection?

Not nessesarily. If it's easy enough to upgrade I can do that when I need two

Very easy to upgrade. A correct screwdriver is all you will need when the time comes.

There are some very good deals for either machine, but my advice would be to save yourself the extra couple of yoyos and get either an extra game or another controller.

The North is still the cheapest place to buy by far, the exchange rate and the VAT difference make a massive saving at the moment.

Hi, Beawre the vat rate is going to change in january again back to 17.5% in the corth.
check out HMV in dublin, get talkin to a sales person and if you buying console & games or extra controller you can haggle with them a bit to get what you need, they are trying to compete with the prices in the north so they some good discounts if ya chance your arm.

Where would one get one of the PS3s with the backward compatibility for the PS2 games?

I got a PS3 slim in powercity for €250 last weekend, since gone up, I think its the same price in harvey normans now. It would have had to be £220 to match that, the cheapest on comparison sites was £225 in the UK. Also I have local warranty if it breaks down. Also take into account time, petrol & stress involved with going north. I would not go north unless I was going to save at least €200-300, and on stuff I REALLY want, not just filling up on stuff to convince myself I "saved".

You can get good bundles on amazon.co.uk

Do you know if Harvey Norman are still selling for €250? Is that the 120Gb version?

Anyone know where is cheapest for it at the moment? Think that Gamestop deal with MW is probably the best I've seen.
