Assigning or Subletting: HELP!!

    I am recently after getting my landlord to agree for me to sublet or assign someone to my apartment so I can eventually get my deposit back in one piece.
    The apartment was too much and I have only been living in it for two months with a six month lease.
    My question is how do I got about assigning or subletting??? There has to be some guidance out there somewhere???
