    * warning, contains a rant

    grrrrr :mad::mad::mad:

    has anyone else a 01+ mondeo with stupid central locking, I have to push the button about a million times it seems to unlock/lock the doors.

    and them it has this stupid double locking so you need to push it twice (or 5o more times) to unlock the rear/passenger doors.

    sometimes, drives you mad. like in pissing rain, or with shopping at hand, frantically pushing buttons.

    fluck!

    a quick trip to your local pound shop and buy a set of watch batteries. Pretty sure it is a CR2032 that fits the mondeo fob.

    Could be the key fob itself, mine did something similar, opened it up.
    Built up of dust and dirt on the buttons and small switches.
    Gave it clean with ear bud, put back together and its working fine, buttons move alot easier too.

    Could it be the lock itself on one of the doors, maybe the drivers door most likely as its used most. My wife had the same problem, turned out it was the locking mechanism itself, which eventually totally siezed. To find out you could try open the door with the key itself for a few days rather than the fob. If that works fine all the time then it could be the fob but if you have problems with the key too it might be the lock
