Unlock Huawei E180 on Meteor

    Hi I have a Huawei E180 mobile broadband on PAYG with Meteor. I can get an unlock code online but just wondering how do I go about flashing new software on to it to enable it to use another sim for another network or country. Thanks in advance.

    The unlock code should allow you to use another sim from another country.

    no need to flash the device, just go into the setting and add a new profile, call it what ever you want but set it up with your new operators settings, apn etc

    I've found here a free solution for unlocking E180 Huawei Dongle:

    First step:
    Check IMEI number of your E180. (It is in Meteor Boradband to Go software "Tools" menu under "Diagnostics" command.)

    Second step:
    Download this Huawei Unlock code calculator software. I scanned it. Not contain any virus. File is here: http://www.mediafire.com/?myfd1zd1cnt
    Open this small exe file and write in the input field your IMEI number. And click to Calculate button. There will be your Unlock code.

    Final step:
    Download this Code Writer Software from here: http://www.ruchirablog.com/tools/huawei-code-writer.rar
    Launch this small software. Click on "Please select Com port", Click "Detect" (don't connect to internet with your dongle under this process), Select your ComPort. Click "Accept".
    Click "Unlock Modem" and enter your 8 digit unlock code. Click "OK".

    Done.

    You can use other sim card in your E180 usb modem.
