Well once more we are greated with another snowdome story in the papers this morning this time on the border somwhere with a Casino attached.

Chill Factore in Manchester just about makes money and receives council assistance with a catchment area off over 8.5 million and charges £45 for a 3 hour visit.

We are an island of 4 million:confused: Is this really going to work I would love if it could but in reality it probably will not be a viable option as with Snowtopia and the one in wicklow I dont think we will ever see this.

Or we will see it and once the Casino is up and running the snowdome will be gone:(. That would be even worse

I think this one is a snowflex slope. It does seem ridiculously lavish apart from that tho! Casino, hotel and horse racing... does someone need to point out to them that hotels are going under all over the shop?

I still recon snowtopia is the only one with any chance of realisation: they already have funding.

Snowflex very intresting! Great for Freestyle and learners but crap for racing and advanced skiing.

Blurb from the developers says that people will come form the uk to us it? Both Manchester and Glasgow have Snowdomes so why would anyone from the uk by pass them to head to a casino in the middle of no where?

Would be intresting to see how Snotopia would work in terms of cost for an hour etc would love to see it but dont think we have the numbers to make it viable here.

BoardsRanger: Go a few times a year. You can do it in a day and get 6 hours skiing in.

£20 Gets you from the airport to the slope & Trafford center in 15 min its £45 for a 3 hour session I think (Havent Paid in while it who you know :D)

Slope can get busy at the weekends but it is a decent lenght and will keep you occupied for a day.

There is a Nandos, Chillis, Costa and pub for food and it opens to the rif raf at 9 am. Rental gera is pretty good and there is a Snow and rock, North Face and a few other shops there.

Cheers for the info! Sounds great. Il wait till i finish college in a few weeks time and head over mid-week.
It would be great if we had something like it here- although im not sure it would get enough business to keep it running.

It wouldnt witht he exception of Hemel which is right outside London the rest of the domes rely on Goverment and council Grants/Business/Projects to keep them open

haha the latest snowdome in Ireland idea has an air of Field of Dreams 'build it and they will come' to it. Add the casino in for a little pepper of Vegas in the Co.Louth wildwest and you get the idea.
Fair play if it happens but its all completely dependent on the govt. changing their mind on one arm bandits and casinos in Ireland. Recessionary times are extraordinary times.
