My bf has a degree in psychology and wants to get a job as a social care worker but he has limited experience working with people with asbergers / on the autistic spectrum.
does anyone know of anywhere that is looking for volunteers that would allow him to gain experience in this field. He cannot get a job without experience and he is unsure of how or where to go to get this experience.
    We're in the kildare area.

Lots of disability organisations will take him on as a volunteer. The main problem will be getting Garda clearance as you have to be vetted before you work with children. This can take about 6 weeks and the application has to be submitted by the organisation. He may be able to get by by being fully supervised while working - it depends on the organisation. Y ou could also try volunteering with groups such as your local special olympics club or other groups who organise social outings for people with disabilities.
