    Hi all,

I'm after a basic TV card for my PC that will do the basics with Windows 7 Media centre. All it needs to do is record from an analog NTL cable coming into the back of the PC. I dont need any HD functionality etc, just the basics.

I've been looking at dabs, elara, and komplett but Im a bit clueless on what to choose. I'd appreciate a bit of advice.

    Thanks!

    Hi,
I recently got the Hauppauge HVR4000, it does far more than just analogue but that is partly why I think you should get it, i.e. if you choose to add freesat or dtt channels down the road you can without being forced to buy a new card. It's a bit more than you would pay for a very basic analogue card but you get far more for your money with the potential to add satellite to it.
Just my 2 cents without knowing what your budget is.
I currently only use mine for analogue at the moment as I've yet to get a dish installed yet and it works pretty well, absolutely no complaints so far. One of the Blackgold tuner cards (blackgold.tv is the site) would give you a dual tuner so that you could watch one channel and record another.
I'm getting the new blackgold with dual satellite and dual analogue (when it's released in January).
    Hope that helps
