is this the last ep. before the mid season break?

Yep, it is - it won't be back until January 11th after this one...

Its back on the 4th with a Double episode.

Theory for this ep, either Peter has Renne power or he has Claires.

    Spoiler?
Nathan to fix Peter like Sylar fixed Charlie?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I think there's no way in hell Peter's powers are going to be augmented again. The current one-at-a-time set up works so much better than OMNIPETE from Season 1 and 2. It makes for better storytelling and a better character.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,666 ✭✭✭savemejebus

I don't think his powers will be augmented but at teh same time I don't think the current setup works better.

In fact i think a lot of people tuned out after it became apparent that cripplepete was going to be an ongoing fixture. Having Sylar so much more powerful than all the others with no counterweight makes the show unbalanced and so the writers need to find ways to hobble him too and so we get his mind in parkmans body etc... Plus, sure he's a cool character but theres not enough depth to him to be the main character of the show

I think it was much more interesting to watch peter adjust to and deal with being so powerful while moving inevitably towards mastery and the super powered showdown we all wanted with Sylar.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,406 ✭✭✭PirateShampoo

I would love for Peter to get his powers back, there needs to be a equal to Sylar.

Just no more god dam Time Travel.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,779 ✭✭✭A Neurotic

I was really surprised they gave Hiro back his time travel actually, after what seemed like such a contrived effort to get rid of it altogether in Volume 3... I'm quite liking it this season though, seems like there's more thought gone into it or something.

Meh. Very unconvincing episode in both Claire's and Pete/Nathlar's storylines.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,666 ✭✭✭savemejebus

I agree, 5% ok 95% pathetic, i think the only way forward is if Peter discovers he can take powers like his dad, takes Claire's so that she can be normal and then as she goes skipping off into the sunset she gets hit by a bus.

I thought it was ok, but the way Sylar just turned up in that elevator was a bit iffy!....so, is Nathan dead yet????

For the 25th time, is he THIS time DEAD aka pushing up daisies?, jesus...how many times did he die and come back?....and Sylar is back in his body i guess. Lauren is hot stuff!!

Why were Ando/Hiro and Mohinder running in a jungle?....they on the run?, ep. written by Tim Kring,

I actually thought Sylar turning up in the elevator was one of the best things. Back to the old Sylar, stalking his prey, but this time using shape shifting to help.

One thing I didn't really get was why peter expected a haitian mindwipe to work on Sylar. He knows from season 2 that the healing ability can negate that.

Well i was right about one thing.

I liked the episode, it was very session 1 ish.

But Peter was supressing Sylars powers so he couldnt heal. Also Peter is a bit of a tard when it comes to plans.

I spoted that myself, think its a case of bad editing and they slipped a clip in of a future episode by mistake.

I meant after he'd done the wipe and wanted Sylar to be Nathan. It was a really tardy plan

I presumed that was a random flashback from Fugitives. Showing how people with powers are oppressed or persecuted or whatever. Wasn't it?

From the hospital garb that Mohinder is wearing i'd say it's a clip from a future episode.

You could be right, Hiro and Suresh are wearing the same clothes and Ando is dressed properly.

Oh, for ****s sake. Someone feels they got ripped off for a few dollars so they beat the **** out fo someone and then glass some girl in the face. Bloody ridiculous.

So the "big" death hyped was Nathan? Really? So will he stay dead for more than 5 minutes this time? What a huge cop out for the show once again...

And the inconsistencies... if Peter was blocking Sylar's powers, why did he morph into Nathan? Why was that power also not blocked at the time. And how the hell did he even absorb the ability in the first place? Can the Haitian just "turn it off"?

I thought it was ok, but the way Sylar just turned up in that elevator was a bit iffy!

That's the way Sylar always was in season one. He'd show up whereever and whenever he wanted cos he'd put effort into, as someone said, stalking his prey.

    ....so, is Nathan dead yet????[/QUOTE]

Yes. Adrian Pasdar collected his P45 at Kirby Plaza.

As someone said, looks like a flashforward. Fairly lazily thrown in though...

We've seen from past episodes that Renne can suppress multiple or single powers at will.

Really, where? In another case then, when they are in Haiti up against his brother, he tells Nathan and Peter to not come closer or something - as their powers would be blocked, indicating he doesn't have fine control over that.

But in any case, that's not my problem with the episode anyway and I can look by those inconsistencies - Peter's plan was still dumb and Nathan's "death" utterly pointless...

He was probably just using the money as an excuse to try and wipe the smug look off of Clare's face.

    The final scene with Arthur.

Renne blocks Arthurs powers and Peter tries to shot him in the head, Sylar walks in and catches the bullet.

I quite liked this one. Bit of a slow burner, but kept me entertained. I still have no idea what Samuel is ultimately up to, but he is a far better villain than Sylar this year. Nathan's death (3rd or 4th at this stage?) was well done, and looks like he is gone for good. The slow motion fall was a bit fake looking though.

I'm still hooked, but we need a glimpse of the end game at this stage.

This weeks episode again brought the story forward again and gave Samuel a more sinister role, I think he’s the best of the new characters and this Carnival crowd seem to have a purpose, what that is we’ll have to find out but I’m guessing that’s it something to form their own form of colony with Samuel as the leader not to be interfered with by people who don’t understand their powers. Claire seems to be at ease with the carnies but this will probably come to a head when Samuel goes after HRG.

The killing off of Nathan didn’t really excite me. I can’t remember what his last decent storyline. Hiro’s absence from the episode probably helped as the story line needed serious thought and his childish actions would have detracted from it, but having said that he has made contact with the carnival and he can enter at any time. Thinking about it, nearly every one of the current Heroes have had some contact with Samuel or the Carnival.

I think the storylines are really in place for a great second half of the season, where the writers will bring it is anyone’s guess but hopefully they can string some good episodes together, looking forward to Sylar V Samuel V Peter.

Best part of the show was when Doyle appears and says hello Barbie and as if nothing has happed between then. I liked Doyle as a character and good to have him back.

It was enjoyable. Closer to season 1 standard than the mess that was season 3. There seems to be a solid story there now. Knepper has been great as Samuel. You can pick lots of holes in Heroes if you want to but I think it's best not to bother at this stage. If we've soldiered on with it this long might as well see it through.

Lmao @ Claire's lesbo friend eyeing up the fortune teller.

I liked this episode. I do think the character of Nathan needed to go. He was one of my favourite characters in season 1 but since then they have really screwed around with him. Samuel continues to impress in the role of villain.

I do feel though that something is missing from the story. I think it's the fact that there's not a point of focus as there was in season 1. They have strong villains in Sylar and Samuel but there doesn't seem to be an equivalent for the good guys. Peter comes across as pretty weak by comparison, Claire isn't coming across as a strong heroine, Nathan's been killed off, Parkman's absent and Hiro is meant to be dying (though he's still time travelling for some reason - Has Peter forgot all about trying to save him or have I missed something?)

I'd like to see Peter get all his powers back, cure Hiro and have a showdown versus the baddies because right now they come across as a bit hapless.

I liked the fight between peter and sylar at the start. It was a new take on it, everyone's has been gagging for the Peter vs Sylar super power fight to end all fights since the start of the show, and this was the two of the going at it with 0 powers (And a nail gun!) I thought it ended quite quickly though, seemed too easy.

Nathan's dead again, hopefully this time it sticks.

I didn't like Claire and Les in the theme park, thought she was sucked in far too easily by nonsense.

Samuel is a good character i'd like to know what result he really wants. The talk of a settlement seems to be a clue.

I thought we might have seen Tracey Strauss in this ep, last we saw her she was talking to Samuel, thought she might have bumped into claire in outside a caravan.

Well I think it highlighted the fact that without his powers, Sylar is pretty weak and could be killed quite easily. I think it is his serial killer mentality that really makes him seem stronger than he is.

Without his powers he is nothing. Something that was also highlighted in Season 2 when his natural response was to flee rather than fight anyone.
