Possibly moving to PS3 Slim

So thinking of selling the PS3 Phat I have currently.

Questions are, what, if anything, can I take from it? Will my saves work on the slim?

Also, I want to leave the PSN games on it for whoever buys it. What's the best way to do this? I'm guessing if I delete my account off it, it will also delete the games (or will it?) so do I just remove my credit card details and password? Has anyone done this before?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Your main thing is your demon souls saves will be gone. Backup will hold onto most saves. They minute you restore it'll tel you some saves will not work. DS and Ninja gaiden i lost. Other games you'll have to update before accessing saves or DL the DLC you may have downloaded, happened to me with motorstorm. DLC games and content will be gone you'll have to re dl them. Did'nt get a chance to DEL my acount details as mine went YLOD.

Not all saves can be transferred, I know Killzone2 and SvR10 won't let you save onto memory stick. There's other games 100% sure though.

Setup a new user on your current console and you will see the PSN games are available for that user and then delete your account, when you enter your details (PSN id) on your new slim model all your trophies pop up again.

But will deleting my account not also delete the PSN games I bought and downloaded under that account?

    No

The games are downloaded to the console, not the account.

If I download a game, my son can play it on his profile.

Setup a new account first and you will have the downloaded games in that users account...I have a separate user a/c for my 6 year old boy and anything I download can be accessed by him.

A friend of mine set up his account on my console, he had previously downloaded COD WAW dlc, in turn when we accessed his a/c on my console, downloaded again, it came up in my users a/c on the one I'd set for my boy.

Give it a try before deleting anything.

Did he delete his account off your PS3 after he'd downloaded the dlc onto it or is his account still set up on it?

Its still set up but that makes no difference as mentioned once downloaded on the console it doesn't matter about the accounts.

If you get the slim PS you can download your previous PSN games through your PSN account.

leimrod you are right, your account will have to remain on the phat PS3 if the person wants to be able to play those games, as the games are tied to the profile that purchased them. If you delete that profile from the PS3 the games may still be on the hard drive but cannot be played as they will have lost 'activation'.
