Road side extra capacity in storage facility ? What should I do with it

    Hi all
we have just changed premises - the building that we have moved to has a carpark out the front and a large porch which we don't use. It is situated along a main road with plenty of passing trade. Road side advertising does not suit our main business (not for any bad reason), so what should I do with the front of the premises - it is a shame to just leave it there
    I thought about
Selling a few cars (I am not that interested in cars), trailers, boats, etc any ideas???? Something Green????Thanks in advance

Is the building just used as storage? Ie. do you have customers or anyone visiting the premises that would not like to see the front car park being used by a car wash or other such facility.

You may need planning permission, depending on how much you change the use of the area.

There is a car wash attached to a filling station within 100 meters - I am looking for something more that will look after itsself - maybe someone prepared to put some of their products there to see if they will sell?? Open to all ideas

Setting up some advertising hoardings would be a simple idea, or approaching local business (such as the ones you mentioned, ie. selling boats or whatever) that might pay you a fee to use your car park.

I'd imagine what you are looking for is just to have someone paying for use of your car park without having to look after the operation yourself.

There's a frequent poster here (Jamesy08?) who I believe sells deluxe swingsets for kids and is currently vacating a premises. Outdoor, roadside space could be ideal (Apologies in advance if I've got my facts wrong or am butting in)

I think it is too late for him http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055741340

    How many carparking spaces?
Are you close to a main transport route stop (e.g. rail/bus/luas)?
What sort of access do you have & is the yard/carpark area secure
My suggestions would be (the ones that require PP are marked)
    Valeting (PP)
    Park & Ride (PP)
Secure truck parking - this can be in demand depending.
