    Hey

I'm sure this has been done before but I got an email today saying I got a first interview with Accenture in their grad programe. Just wondering if anyone else has an interview and what should I expect. To be honest the email this evening made my day! Even if I get no further in the process it's boosted my confidence and gives me some hope for after I graduate :D

They're big on first impressions. You need to look ultra professional. Will you represent their brand correctly? Very important. No dreads, nose piercings etc.
I also know that they focus a lot for grads on extra curricular activities, leadership, were you the captain of any teams, in various societies etc.
They like leaders and past performance suggests future performance.

For the love of god learn the competencies:

    Drive and Resilience
    Leadership
    Teamwork
    Value Creation

You need to tie everything back to those using the STAR framework. First interview will mostly consist of them having you talk through your CV but have examples of times when you displayed the four skills listed above ready to hand.

If you've any poor grades back in first year be prepared to discuss them. They'll trawl right through your CV and grades scripts in the interviews (though I think that could have been later stages). I made it to the final round of interviews back in 2003 and lost the job because of some poor grades in first year.

Be warned though: if you do get the job, it'll take over your life. Very long hours (though you do get overtime which is unusual for the industry) and you're expected to socialise with colleagues on the staff nights which seem pretty common. Might sound like a good thing but after attending a few of them with a friend who worked there you'll never find a more jumped up, arrogant bunch outside of a Blackrock College Reunion...

I was interviewed for an IT role there a couple of years ago. I did the interview in which the interviewer was convinced he knew me from somewhere, which he didn't. He was arrogant and rude.

Then gave me a written technical test, which I completed in just a few minutes. I then sat there waiting for him to come back but he didn't. I gave it another 10 or 15 minutes and went to look for him. I was then told after some people whispering and running around that he had gone home

I told them not to call me and walked out.
