I have a bass amp that is rated 350W at 4 Ohms or 240W at 8 Ohms -

At the rear of the amp there are 2 X 8 Ohm outputs .............but what way should I connect in my 2 cabs (I have a 1 X 15 Cab rated 8 Ohms and a 4 X 10 cab also rated at 8 Ohms) to achieve the full 350W?

Do I only use 1 output and use the extension jack from cab to cab?

Or do I use both outputs and run the 2 cabs seperately ?

This may seem like a really simple / stupid question but its wrecking my head at the moment !!

    Thanks guys

    Jim

This answer will also wreck your head, but you need to check your amps manual. Output jacks may be wired in different ways giving different results.
My guess is that you use both cabs, each in it's own 8 ohm jack. Both are probably in parallel yielding a 4 ohm total load and giving you your maximum 350 Watt output.
Again don't take my word, you need to look up the manual.

The cab inputs are more than likely wired in parallel, as probably are the outputs of the amp, so it should make no difference which way you connect them. Electrically, it will be the same.
