I applied for the maintenance grant in late August to my local V.E.C. and recieved a letter saying my aplication has passed to the next stage but since then I have heard nothing from them and i was wondering is this the same for everyone else????

I've been waiting for mine from Waterford VEC since late August too. Got a receipt of forms letter in September but I've heard nothing since. As far as I know the county council has started paying out their grants but on the whole the VECs have been taking their sweet time. I spoke to my VEC during the week and they said they've only just started getting through forms sent in on the last week of August. Considering how small Waterford is I'd say the bigger counties like Dublin and Cork are probably going to take even longer to process.

I just got my approval letter last week from south tipp vec,I applied the last week of august, but I'll have to wait till early january for payment. When I took the approval letter into college they said my fees will be paid back in december, dont know what date though, anyone have any idea????

I got mine approved by Wicklow VEC 2 weeks ago, brought form into college and am now waiting on my monies :P

I got my grant, was sent a form out, which the college needed to stand and the bank also, gave them all my a/c details. but now i've waited for 2 weeks with no mention of anything
Says i was entitleded to full fees paid some cash, and a special rate of 1300, not sure if it applies to me, but the rate was mentioned on my letter, so is it safe for me to assume that i'll get that 1300?

ok the dublin VEC finally got back to me telling me I've gotten the full ajacent grant *woooo* and they requested all of my bank details and what not and I was able to hand it all in just before the offices closed so now I'm wondering does anyone know what date the dublin VEC will be paying out the next grant payment???
