Slight dampness on corner skirting board

    Hi,

Was just wondering if someone could give me some advice pls. I recently had a slight damp patch near to skirting board- dug up approx. 1.5ft and issue appeared to be tear in dpc sheet - I put in new piece where I could see butting up to corner and re-cemented - thought job was completely done- last few days I've noticed on touching skirting that it's slightly moist to touch again!! As opposed to re-attempting same route again, cos. new carpet down, would a liquid type DPM prevent this capillary action of moisture coming up. Your thoughts would be most welcome.
