    Hey Folks,

I want to ring Bus Eireann in regards to a complaint but can't find a phone number for head office on their website. All they appear to have is a feedback form. Is the head office in Busaras or elsewhere?

    Many thanks.

You are better of putting your complaint in writing, most semistate companies won't pay it any heed other wise.

You know you're probably right Thaedydal. I'm not the sort to make a complaint but I got given the finger by a driver yesterday and that's just not on. Regardless of whether they say anything to him at least I'll have done something.

Were you driving inconsiderately at the time per chance?

No I was crossing the road at the pedestrian crossing. The bus was waiting at the lights but was halfway over the crossing. I had to walk up and around it in a dangerous manner while being sandwiched between the bus and a car. As I was walking in front of the bus I threw my arms up and looked at him as if to say 'What are you doing?'. He then flipped me.

It was at the junction of Capel street and North King street, just in front of Centra. Crap like this always happens there. Drivers blocking the crossing, vehicles breaking the lights.

Meh, I wouldn't even waste your time in those circumstances tbh

Know the junction well....too bloody well ;)

I`d also perhaps spend a wee bit of time on phrasing your complaint as it will be read in the cold light of day by a person sitting in an office far removed from the Junction you describe.

As an aside I am constantly bewildered in this city by the numbers of people who will perform all manner of contortions to squeeze between a Bus/Truck and other traffic and then suddenly emerge in front of oncoming traffic from the opposite direction.

As a matter of principle I would ALWAYS avoid the larger vehicles when crossing at these type of situations, simply because their very size serves to totally conceal a pedestrian from OTHER road users, often with totally predictable results

At least picking two cars to squeeze between allows other drivers to perhaps have the merest glimpse BEFORE a collision situation occurs...self-preservation is ALWAYS preferable to depending on somebody else to take care of you.

So,whilst you are writing, how about cc`ing a few of your thoughts to the Roads & Traffic Department of Dublin City Council and perhaps to the Garda Dublin Divisional Traffic Corps ......This is but one of the locations in their bailiwick which simply does not function in the real world.....So may the force be with you :)
