I'd swear they were doing it deliberately. Is there a new scrappage scheme in Finland ?

The video seems to be group F rally cars,

they do not have notes like usually in rally and it is not allowed to visit the route in advance. Therefore road knolidge is everything and sometimes the corners are more tricky than you think they would be.

Also if you want to win in group F you better be fast. Two most used cars nowdays are Toyota Starlet and BMW M3 (E36).

But there have not been any deaths for long time and I also would like to point out that safety is a major part of the sport, so it´s not common that spectators are in danger. Way more safer sport than you might think when whatching the video.

Stunning lack of talent shown there.

this is why you shouldn't stand on the outside of corners...

Stunning lack of talent shown there.

It is a crash video after all...

I live there at the moment and the level of driving would put us to shame. First snow arrived about three weeks ago and winter tires or not nobody was phased by it for a second.

I even got to experience of being on a bus with the driver more than happy to let it get a bit sideways once or twice

Good video, but what's with the audience pissing themselves laughing and whoopin and hollerin when somebody crashes??

    Weird.

Also surely when 5 or 6 cars crash on the same corner the rally organisers either warn other drivers or call it off?No?

    Yep.

People in the nordics are used to snow and know how to deal with it.

Actually, Sweden has a learner driver system, a bit like Ireland, but a lot more restrictive, like you have to have somebody with you at all times, that has a full license for at least 5 years. I feel they actually only are capable of driving, when there is snow and they've got spikes on the tyres :)

The other thing is, that like Ireland, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark are big into Rally. Accidents will happen, but it's a sport where safety is the top priority.

He got grazed by the side of the car, and got straight back up on his feet. Hardly worth abandoning the video for.
