    Hey gang

    hope yer all well

i have a 2007 macbook, and I have noticed that it 'blinks' or goes black for a split second, every once an da while, very rarely though, but still I have noticed it.

It has only started happening since the weekend, but since i spend a lot of time in front of my macbook, I have noticed it.

Any ideas what this might be, or of any ways of resolving this issue?

    thanks
    ed

Mightnt be it, but check you havent any of the hot corners in the screen saver settings set to Sleep Display.

    Long shot.

eurotrotter, had the same problem with an apple cinema display I had, it would go black and then come straight back on, kept happening for a couple of months, then one day it just went complete black. Trawled the internet for solutions, but in the end it looked like a hardware problem.

Had someone look at it and it needed a new back light and inverter, cost about 350 yoyo's.

Would have someone look at it straight away before it gets worse.

350e for bloody inverter??? thats insane. for any other monitor it wouldn't cost more than 30e on ebay

Maybe for a 20" Display, a 23" inverter will set you back almost 90 quid it also need new backlight tubes top and bottom which could cost about 150 then labour, VAT etc.

Needless to say I never went ahead, didn't have the cash and wasn't willing to throw money into a 5 year old display.
