Total newb to eve at the moment.
Basically just wondering where I should go now.

I completed the initial training along with the three career training missions.
Got myself a few new ships. Pretty much constantly have skills in training.

But, what now? At the end of each career agent they gave me a contact of some sort to speak with but warned me that I'm basically gonna get my ass kicked when I do so... Is there easier missions for me to get some cash flow or should I just attempt them?

Also, as far as combat goes, is it always just orbit target at x distance and open fire or can I actually take control of the ship somewhat?

That particularly hard mission is deliberate to help people used to getting blown up losing their ships and loot. Its an intrinsic part of Eve and a lot of people who come from other games get totally put off by the fact that their "gear/loot" can be lost and must be replaced.

Basically just fit nice cheap ships that you don't mind losing.

For the moment try a little bit of everything and then pursue what you enjoy.

IF you enjoy Eve and think that you will be sticking with it long term then I recommend getting your learning skills up. Then I recommend getting some research agents as they are a passive ISK income. (Although there is talk of getting them nerfed).

Remember its a game and if you aren't having fun then why are you here?

Once you get settled and comfortable with the game I totally recommend getting into a player corp. Ideally one that has the same interests and values as you do. That is why I advised you to get comfortable with the game and to find what you enjoy doing. Once you know this then you will be able to pick a corp that you will enjoy more. However if you join a corp they might do things that you didn't enjoy before but that are very enjoyable doing as a group. Playing with people is always more fun than playing without.

Edit: Jump onto the Irish channel and take a look at Eve University corp as they specialise in training up newbs.

Well I'm enjoying it at the moment but I'm only on a trial account for now. I'll play that out and see how it goes after.

Looks like that mission I was talking about has gone out the window. They told me the contacts after each training session and said they had been bookmarked. However I never went straight to them. I went around each training mission and now do not have any contacts in my list.
I logged on yesterday and pretty much didn't have a clue what to do next.
I'll figure something out later today or will pop into the Irish channel and ask.

    Thanks for the reply.
