The suspension is pretty low to be fair.

ah come on "suspension is pretty low "thats all you can come up with. i mean the engine isnt far off r-type integra , prob cheaper to run than celica and almost as quick if not quicker

i just don't see why they are not more popular. not even sure why i didnt pickup one at last car change

Tax mostly I'd say (€270 more then an ITR)

Its a 2.2 thats not as quick as an ITR or (CTR?) unless you go for the Type S. Isn't there a 2.0 too but not very performance orientated?

yeah I used to own a 2.0 when I was about 21, I think it was a 00 reg, it had a spoiler and a very discreet(not an in your face knacker kit) bodykit ..you wouldn't even know it was there unless you saw it next to one that hadn't it... My only big regret was not going for the 2.2 vti...

The 2.0 has about 140bhp, the 2.2vti has about 190bhp. There is also a 2.2 vTec (but no VTI) , I have driven all 3, the 2.0 and the 2.2 vtec are about par, but the 2.2 vtec vti is a lot quicker.

VTEC is VTEC, and most of the 2.2 VTECs in this country were JDM models (Si I think), but there were only a handful of UK/Irish VTIs. 2.2 non-VTEC was very rare, as was the 2.3 non-VTEC which was usually automatic.

Motortax is probably the main reason why they weren't that popular here. The last model was also a styling mistake.

Engine too big, styling too odd, and interior too 90's.

    Simple as that.

I had a 1993 2.2 F22B non VTEC auto earlier this year for a few months, was a great car to be honest. Much nicer to handle that a Celica and very comfortable. Went very well for an auto, I was surprised how eager she was.

I loved my '98 2.2 Vti VTEC Motegi. It was a great car to drive. VTEC was fantastic. Enjoyed driving it for the eight years I had it, until someone totalled it from behind. :(
