I'm planning to go down the selling road with a few of my old backissues, and graphic novels, no problem so far.

But then realised, I have about 150 or so of the uk reprint comics ''Essential X-Men'' etc [where they get 3 us comics and reprint them in a singular comic] . Was wondering, what would anyone recommed I do with these? I can't imagine anyone would have much interest in purchasing them. Would my local library accept them?

You could call your local library, or go down there, and ask. If you're not looking for money for them, you could either do that, or donate them to charity book shops.

U might be surprised. depending on the issues, people might get them to replace worn ones or even for a missing issue or two. I'm missing a good lot because my local shop would only get in about three copies and i kept missing ones.
