    Hi guys,
Got a job a few months ago in London and have been so run off my feet that I never got around to cancelling my unemployment benefit.
(Was a case of, "There’s a job here for you if you can be here by tomorrow!" So I had to just jump on the next plane.)

Although I haven’t collected any Dole since a week before I left, and I know that my account will be cancelled by now, do I still have to cancel the benefit account in person?

Also, will there be any consequences for not informing them?

Just tell them and they'll sort it out. They are happy that people get jobs.

If you haven't been signing on, presumably you haven't been paid beyond the last time you signed on.
