Hi there .Im covering the kitchen ceiling joists with tounge and groove and I was hoping to soundproof while at it .There is sheetrock nailed up to batons inside joists against upper floor . My question is. . Is it nessesary to put up sheetrock or soundboard or will insulating with fiberglas or rockwool flexi between…

trying to drown out upstairs bedroom noises above kitchen.
