Partial Respray Cost?

There's a little rust on both arches on the right hand side of my 2-door bmw e30. The back arch has a circle of rust of about an inch in diameter with some of the rust breaking through the paint. The front arch has about 10 small rust bubbles on it.

I've been told that both panels need to be prepped and resprayed. Because of this I've been told (by some) that the door on the right hand side will need to be resprayed otherwise it would look odd. I also want the front bumper resprayed. I'm getting a quote for all of the work at around 850euro (from a reputable company). How does that sound? A little expensive? Should i shop around a little more and is all this work a little excessive for a little rust??

Doesn't sound too bad. I'd get a quote for a full respray while I was at it though. You might get a better deal and you'd have everything sorted

    Sounds about right.

My van had scratches from keying on 3 sides, when I bought it, a pretty hefty dent in the front, rust under both front doors.

The partial paintjob, a complete polish up on the car etc. cost me 900 EUR.

If it's done by a good bodyshop, you won't see the difference afterwards.

My Honda Prelude has bad rusting on it's rear arches.
I brought it to Carcraft, and was quoted 450e, for the rust treatment, respray, colour matching, and a couple of little cosmetic bits here and there.. Dropping it in this week.

That'll give you a rough idea of cost I guess..?

Carcraft sounds like a good price. Going by their website it should cost about 750euro.
    One Bumper € 160 + VAT
    One Door € 180 + VAT
    One Wing and One Back Panels € 160 + 160 + VAT

So I could save about 100euro. There's a few good things posted on boards about them. Might check it out but I know that the 850euro quote comes from a very reputable company so i don't know if 100euro is enough to risk..

I don't think i want a full respray since the rest of the car looks very fresh. Even the guy in the paint shop commented on it.

I'd drop in and get a quote tbh.. I was expecting mine to cost way more than quoted, because of what was listed on the site.
